Petteria

Family

Leguminosae

A genus of a single species allied to Laburnum, from which it differs in the more tubular calyx, the upper lip of which is divided almost to the base. The racemes are erect, a character that also serves to distinguish it from the two best known species of Laburnum.

The genus is named after Franz Petter, a Dalmatian botanist who died in 1853.
